About UsHunt Wilde Grips

The Hunt Wilde Brand of injection molded grips are produced locally using the same tooling that created the original familiar grips. With the acquisition of the grip tooling for this brand, GripWorks provides the essential grips for your applications.

The Story

While Sinclair & Rush was pioneering the dip molding industry and developing its line of dip molded hand grips, Hunt Wilde was establishing itself as a leading supplier of  injection molded grips - selling grips to nearly all of the domestic bicycle manufacturers.

In their heyday, Hunt-Wilde was pretty much the only game in town for injection molded grips. In fact, almost all of the US bike manufactures featured Hunt Wilde Grips on them – even though some of them were private labeled – like the Schwinn cushion grip.

Based on its success in the bike industry, Hunt-Wilde expanded its product line to manufacture hand grips for all types of applications. From wheelchairs and walkers to mowers and mop buckets, they made grips for just about anything that needed a handle.

Unfortunately, as bicycle manufacturers and others moved “offshore” and more companies moved to innovative dip molded grips made by GripWorks, Hunt Wilde exited the business and sold off its assets.

In 2011 GripWorks acquired a vast majority of the Hunt Wilde line of molds from the original owner and have been producing the hand grips ever since.
